On Saturday, September 8th we’ll be participating in a global day of action by co-hosting a local rally as part of Rise for Climate. The day of action comes ahead of the Global Climate Action Summit, a gathering of municipal, business, and civil society leaders, and we want to make clear that we demand a fast and fair transition to a sustainable future for all.
What: Rise for Climate Saskatoon
When: Saturday, September 8th, 12-2pm
Where: City Hall – 222 3rd Ave N (map below)
You can RSVP on Facebook here. We are co-hosting this event with the local chapter of the Council of Canadians.
Out of a desire to stabilize the global climate by phasing out fossil fuels, we stand in solidarity with those opposing the proposed Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion in B.C., those opposing tar sands expansion in Alberta and those opposing Line 3 in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Minnesota. We need real climate leadership that protects our climate, jobs, and justice.
It’s time to repower our communities with clean, renewable energy from the sun, earth, wind and water. Join the #RiseForClimate global day of action and be a part of the solution the world needs.
Bring your voices, your signs and your enthusiasm for a just and sustainable future.
