Just Transitions: Building Saskatchewan’s Next Economy
October 27-28th, Regina
We’re really excited to be involved with this event coming up in Regina at the end of October. There will be two days of talks and interactive sessions covering various aspects of Saskatchewan’s economy and future where we will be starting conversations about how to navigate our province through this challenging time without leaving anyone behind. The best part? It’s all free! We hope you’ll join us!
There are a lot of great speakers and workshops lined up including folks from Idle No More, the National Farmer’s Union, Reclaim Alberta, and many more. There will be a number of speakers from CJS too – we’ll be sharing some of our work phasing out coal in the province, including our engagement with coal-producing communities and work on transitioning the electrical grid.
Youth are also welcome at the event (and child-minding is available), and there is a particular component geared towards educators – a session called “Teaching about Transition.”
The event will run from 10am-4:30pm on each day at Campus Regina Public (1069 14th Ave E). You can find more info and register (when open) here: https://saskforward.ca/energy-transition/
Thanks to the folks at SaskForward, RPIRG, UNIFOR, and the Corporate Mapping Project for their work in putting this together. We hope to see you there! You can see the full poster below.
