Every Wednesday at 6:30pm we are privileged to air our show, From the Ground Up, on CFCR 90.5FM – Saskatoon’s Community Radio Station. We’re really grateful to have this platform to engage with folks in Saskatoon and beyond on bringing attention to local climate news and initiatives and in participating in national and even global climate conversations. We’ve been on the air since the latter half of 2016 and have to date produced 170 original episodes. We’re also grateful to share that platform with a truly diverse array of community programming that really represents so many different aspects of our local context. It’s just a really exciting thing to be a part of!
CFCR is a great community platform in large part because it’s community-funded. Every year its FM-Phasis fundraiser helps to raise enough money to keep this platform in the community’s hands, and this year might be one of the most important ones ever given the challenges of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. CFCR really needs the community to rally around it, as it has for close to 30 years now. The theme of this year’s fundraiser is “Together in Sterio.”
You can find your complete guide to the fundraiser here, including the great perks and prizes that are available for community members who can make a donation. You can make your pledges here!
We also want to add that if you enjoy From the Ground Up, and want to support in particular having a platform for local public conversations around climate justice, then please pledge your FM-Phasis donation to FTGU and help keep us going strong!
While you’re here, you can listen to the most recent episode of FTGU below. (And, you can find all past episodes here.)
